Who are we ?

From the creation of our vineyard to our conversion to organic farming, immerse yourself in our wine world.

If our first wines date back to 1997, our history as winegrowers dates back more than 100 years. Today the fourth generation of winegrowers work in Domaine Fond Croze to help make organic red, white and rosé wines.

A family story, between passion and excellence …

It all began the day after the First World War, in 1918 … Returning from the great battle, Charles LONG decided to settle with his family in Saint Roman de Malegarde, very close to Vaison la Romaine. A small village of 300 inhabitants in the North of Vaucluse, located north of the Ventabren hill, behind the more famous villages of Cairanne and Rasteau, He acquired his first lands, and to provide for his family’s needs, he decided to cultivate vines, melons, peaches and apricots. A few years later, his son Raymond LONG, followed him in his dream and helped him to the farm. Little by little, the two developed the exploitation to obtain nearly 25 ha of land, with a majority of vines and olive trees. To thank this small village in the South of France for welcoming his family, Raymond got involved in the active life of the village. He created the Syndicat des Vignerons de Saint Roman de Malegarde, he participated in the active life of this Provençal village, which led him to become Mayor from 1983 to 2010.

In keeping with tradition, Daniel and Bruno LONG , Raymond’s sons, followed in their father’s footsteps, and joined the family business from an early age.

It was in 1997 that the Domaine FOND CROZE was born … If Daniel takes over the management of the vineyard and perpetuates the traditional techniques of viticulture, his brother, Bruno, perfects himself in the field of oenology and elaborates today cuvées of excellence and character. Led by these 3 actors in perfect cooperation , the farm benefits from carefully maintained and preserved grape varieties which today cover more than 80 hectares. In 2009, the Domaine began its conversion to organic farming, with the close help of Mr. Philippe CAMBIE, oenologist and advisor. Since 2017, Guillaume LONG , Daniel’s son, after training in viticulture-oenology and a 2-year adventure on the other side of the Atlantic, continues the work started by his family and the development of the domain.
